It has been a month since the last update! Well today, after a long long week filled with exams,I decided that I was going to make dinner for a few of my friends.I dint give much thought to it at first, just that my friend,Jessie asked me to eat out with her as she was too lazy to cook, so I suggested that I cook instead. So in the end I ended up cooking for four, and halfway through I realize I have never cooked for more than two before and that they might not like my cooking.T-T
BUT, they finished everything, "fuh" * hopes nobody comes down with a stomachache tomorrow*

So im approximately 15130 km away from home, what has change so far besides the fact that im no longer in Malaysia.

Firstly im never without at least two layers of clothing, besides when i m in shower.
I dont enjoy taking shower that much anymore.
I love the sun now, why do we ever complain its sunny? Sun's good=)
I wake up before 9am everyday so far, without the alarm clock! ( The sun shines in at ard 7)
Ive never brought water around, even to school in Malaysia but I m constantly looking for water right now.

Things that remains the same,
My hair is growing longer and longer everyday though its been less than a month since i last cut it.
Im still as messy as ever.
And i still have the same readers and I heart you all!!

I read an article on christmas about what christmas meant to this guy, and for him christmas reminds him that in 6 days, the year will be ending and a new year begins. So i thought to myself during christmas, and i vowed to spend my last 6 days in 2010 wisely, sad to say i wouldn't say i did. However here I am writting my-year-end review slash maybe new-year-resolution-post on a brand new year. =)

So what did i do this year,

1. Took my SAT begining of this year, which was hell. I wasnt really prepared, and i dont think I put this test to use, but it taught me quite a bit. =)

2. Celebrated CNY in Taiping-Kota Bahru-Tok Bali-Cherating-KL....=), one of the best CNY ever. =)

3. Finally put my driving licence to use although I got it in April 2009, Its feels good being able to drive around, I m quite proud of my driving skills, =). As of end of this year, i have driven to, subang, pj, bangsar, klang, taiping and my lastest accomplishment is to drive from tpg to kl although not Solo.

4. Wooops got my first pay this year, hopefully more to come in 2011. ;p

5. First trip with friends from INTI to Langkawi. The trip was good, we chose Langkawi cause there was a discount for Airasia, and i think we paid just around RM 50 for the round tickets, but because our flight was delayed, we got a rm200 voucher from them. I kinda heart air asia...
6. My first prom!!! Haha, it was just alright, but still had fun playing dress up.
7. My first community service kinda work. Joined EPIC, 2010 where i signed up as a volunteer where we helped compiled a village census of their demographics, played with the kids and help in cleaning up the village a bit. My first time in a orang asli village too. It was a great experience and this program will mark the begining of me joining a program like this, cause the feeling after is just epic. =)

8. First time to Bangkok, but once is enough for me to fall in love with Bangkok! Shopping and food there is just awesome, I think its one of those place I will never get tired of, okay maybe not never, but you get what i mean.

9. Also took some weird subjects in 2010, and i secretly kinda like them. Naming, public speaking, philosophy, world religions and business communications. Though i complained about having to study for it, I have learned quite a lot from religion, I am no longer religion-noobed though I still stand by my beliefs before taking the subject. The two project that I did was also very interessting, might talk about this one day when I feel like it.

10. Went Bangkok for the second time, on a charity program sponsored by BRANDS. Some awesome stuff which marks my first time overseas alone for non holiday purpose.

11. Night out with ash which I will remember for a very long time. XD

12. Officially became an EX- intian.

There are also several farewells this year where I bid goodbye to some of my friends to Canada and US. And soon, 12 days from now, it would be my turn. This is what makes the 2010-2011 transition so special for me. 12 days, I m a liltle freak-ed out, okay maybe alot but it's the new year, what better way to start a new year than to start anew.

Honnestly I thought I was gonna come out with a list of new year resolutions although I dont usually make a list, but right now I am too nervous to do so, so lets just enjoy my 12 days, and hope for the best for ALL.

Woke up super early today, 7.30am not bad right.
Started the day with boring school stuff, apply transcript, write letter, send letter bla bla bla but had yummy nasi lemak and nasi dagang lunch at village park uptown...=)
After that went to one utama to get my specs done. Yay, cant wait for my specs to arrived, wished they had it in a different color though.
Head to curve next, to Daiso- a all rm5 Japanese store. Such a cute shop! They have everything and anything at all. Bought a few random stuff like umbrella, highlighters etc
Next up IKEA, my parents super like ikea!!!! This deserve a story of its own one day.....
After all the shopping had thai dinner with the family..yummy food again. Am please. =p
And after that came home and dyed hair with sister..hehe, its brown-er now, still not vr obvious but brown-er.
So did quite alot on christmas eve, I m happy. I like busy days, days i dont have time to complain im bored. =), the bad thing though is that its only 11pm on a christmas eve and am already sleepy.=(

I feel like im standing in the middle of the ocean right now,

1. Part of me wants to swin towards the beautiful blue skies, swim across to the destination, all excited to discover the other side.
2. Another part of me wants to just continue standing there, worried if I have made all the wrong choices, worried if the other side isnt as pretty after all, and maybe secretly hopping someone will come bring me to the right side
3. And another tiny part, wants to swim back to the shore, to where I am comfortable with.

Hope in a Bottle- BRANDS

Went to Thailand as a student volunteer last month for a charity program by Brands. "Hope in a Bottle" was indeed challenging, but yet super fun!!! =)

1. The accomodation

One of my favorite things about the trip was the hotel we were hosted in. The room was great, sharing it with another friend of mine, Xin Hui, we had the whole place to ourselves. The place was huge, and the place was pretty as all the walls in the hotel were decorated with pretty paintings. We even "complained" that the bed was too big for us we dint bump into each other at all. The staff were very friendly too.

2. The Program

Basically, the Hope in the Bottle program aims to build 4 new houses for several families in Thailand, so off we went during the day to help build houses. It was a really eye-opening and fruitful adventure.
The building process involves;

a) Mixing the cement- Now i know what you need to mix cement, cement powder, water, sand,and pebbles!

b) Carrying the liquid cement, forming a human chain to pass it along to be poured on the base-
Sounds easy but the cement damn heavy okay.

c) Laying Brands bottles on the ground- This process has been researched to save the cement up to about 25%

d) Did a liltle bit of painting too. =)

After two days of building, I will never look at cement the same way again. It wasnt a super hard job, but I never imagine it to be that tough. Thank god for machines, really. But glad to have experienced it anyway.

One thing impresses me a lot was how the organizer thought of everything, and when i say everything, i mean everything. Imagine building at a site, hot weather, in a village, what do you need?

3. The company

Spent most of my time with roommate/ collegemate/ Malaysian-mate, introducing Xin Hui!!

Shes good company especially if you like camwhoring and shopping! =)- Problem with her was she just so super super tall, and i m like super short, so every picture with her makes me look like a dwarf. =(
Funny though a few asked if we are sibblings, we look nothing alike, and DNA must have gone wrong somewhere, she got all the tall genes. Anyways if we are, then who's the younger one??(she is)

Besides, met people from different countries too!!! Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong!. They were all super friendly and impressive too! Although at times I might be rather lost among them due to my "good" mandarin skills, it was great getting to know them, comparing cultures of the different countries.

4. Thailand

Thailand was just super awesome. Shopping and food in Thailand is just heaven!

Today's lunch by mom and dad, super duper yummy, there's still some leftovers in the fridge.yum yum!p/s- This is the thai style of nasi kerabu. They call it "kao jam"...Basically the rice is cooked with some herbs water, mixed the rice with all the vege as above + kerisik (fried coconut)+fish + budu + keropok and not to forget the best sambal in the whole wide world = one of the most satisfying lunch. =)

klang tour!!!

So for deepavali this year, my friends and I decided to go to Klang to visit one of my friend, Nithiya.
We drove down to Klang at about 1pm to meet up with another friend who stays in Klang as well.

Meet Rachel, our tour guide for the entire day. And Nithiya, our host...She stuffed us with all the indian dishes you can think of, and after that icecream, fruits, biscuits...yum yummmmm! Oh and we even got our er purple packets!!! =)

After all the indian food, Rachel decided that she's gonna feed us with MORE food. So off we go.

First stop, some famous fried chicken and yuyu ice. They sell like hot cakes, by the time we got there it was like around 3 maybe and they are almost sold out! Up next, klang popiah! =)
And afters we had banana fritters and those fried sticky thing. Damn oily but satisfying too.

After the eating trip, we walk around the mall for a bit, and some hypermarket wholesales store.before we head to......PORT KLANG!! for some seafood ofcouse, since we are here alll the way to Klang might as well go all the way. Our plate of salted egg mantis prawn..ordered fish and vege too, but we were too busy eating , we forgot the pictures.
After dinner, rac brought us to the "ship" to "blow wind". Its an old ship that overlooks the dirty. sea. Took some pictures, talk for a bit and head back to Klang town. Oh in order to get on the ship we had to do some erm..Climbing...;p

After port klang, we head back to Klang. Guess whats next. we went "pondan" sightseeing before we call it a day and head back home.
So that was what we did for deepavali, a klang tour, before this I had no idea there is so much to do in Klang, though its not exactly a lot but still, I would never imagine spending a whole day out touring Klang. Thanks to Rachel, we felt that we knew klang inside out by the end of the day...

LDR

I Dint know what LDR stands for when a friend of mine first told me she was giving a speech to persuade us LDR can work, well LDR stands for long distance relationship. The thing is I have seen a few people in LDR, I have seen it failed and i have seen it to be a sucess.

My dad had never worked in Taiping before year 1999 when he finally got transferred to Taiping while my mum,sis, and I was living in Taiping for almost all my life. I don't remember before that but I think in about year 1997-1998 my dad was working in Rawang, Selangor and he used to drive back to Taiping in his old Saga every other weekend, maybe on Friday night and back to Rawang againn on Monday mornings and every school holidays we would go down to KL to visit him.

And I know a friend whose father works in KL and does the same almost every weekend for at least as long as I know her.

And I am sure many other dads/bfs does the same or almost the same.

The thing is I think it is a great effort that they put up with; I dont think its easy at all travelling back and forth. As much as I love coming back to Taiping, I almost despise the journey, and that saying I m not even driving, just sitting there doing nothing.

You see my friend dint suceed in persuading me.LOL. I think LDR MIGHT work , but it depends on the individuals , how hard they are willing to fight for it, and how independent they are. Personally I dont think Im the type that willl survive a LDR. What about you?

P/S- Just a random thought on the way back from KL the other day while ash's dad drove us

PP/S - Another friend of mine who is a strong Un-believer of LDR told me months ago, she will NEVER and will try very hard to abstrain herself from getting into a relationship now cause she knows she's about to go to the states. She also told me that she would wait about ten years into a relationship before getting marrie, I told her she should start finding now then, but wait she cant start unless I match make her with one of the guys from the same course , and they can apply to the same uni...-_-". This is super unrelated to the post but I just find her very cute. If you are reading this, you know who you are..;p

Whenever anybody question me about my mum's occupation, I would answer, 'She's a teacher'.
And they will then proceed to asking me what does she teach, and I'll answer 'Oh English' and then immediately proceed to either asking them to excuse me for my horrible English, or to set their expectations right by telling them maybe something like,' Oh but my English is not very good'.
You see, I don't think my mum ever 'teach' me English, well not formally at least, all we do is maybe speak English at home, and mind that with a mixture of some Hokkien. she corrects my grammar at times as i speak, ok maybe all the time,cause my English is that bad, ;p....The point is that, I just always think my English is rather bad, and when people say it's okay I ll go on to say,' No! its not okay,its not up to the English teacher's daughter standard' as if there is some imaginary standard or certain expectation of a certain level of English language proficiency that I am expected to be at.Even as I write this, I don't feel like posting this post as I can feel it is full of crap and grammartical errors.
But today a friend of mine pointed to me something that makes me feel a tiny bit better and which i find quite true. She said

Hey Nat,

I was going through our Langkawi pictures and this is one of my fav pic of you..=)Firstly i just wanna tell you i m gonna miss you so much...i m missing you already even right now. I know we just got to know each other not very long ago and we dont hang out much but i enjoyed every single time we did...
I shall remember our very memorable trip to Langkawi, all the times in public speaking, watching sex and the city 2 and all the other times we spent together. I wish we had spent more time together, but i know one day we shall have the chance, maybe even another trip together..=)
When i bid goodbye to you this morning in the CAE i felt a pinch of sadness but im also quite excited for you..SAN FRANCISCO, its a great place and i m sure you'll enjoy your time there very much. Just remember to take things more easily perhaps, remember always share the stress with the world, dont be selfish..;p
I was also looking foward to sending you off to the airport but looks like i wont make it this time, sorry, but i wish you a safe flight...Catch up with your sleep, enjoy your orientation and of course your long awaited break..Tell me all about it later....=)

semester review

Hmm i kept this entry in my draft for the longest time ever...
My last semester ended on 30th of April and i ve been wanting to write about it cause i felt it was a rather awesome semester, I ve been putting it off but guess i d better write before my new semester ends.

Firstly, i think the main reason the semester turns up well was the subjects that i took. I took accounts, economics, philosophy and public speaking. Alright, accounts and econs are like rather normal, not something very new to me, but philo and public speaking. Until today i m not sure why did i choose those two subjects but i think, no regrets definately.

At first i thought the class was gonna be easy, well why not, just memorize some theories, i know im not like the best speaker, but well atleast my english is not like super bad and speaking is like only 20% of the course anyway. Hell i was wrong its one of the most challenging classes i tell you. Classes was always fun, with some awesome classmates, and also stressful as often we are required to speak extemporaneously. I screw up many times i think but its okay cause in that class its like you never stand alone. Sure there are some like super speakers but i just felt like i could screw up infront but people dont actually show that they are judging you, its a nice feeling. Its also actually rather addictive. I recall my first speech (meaning the 1st speech which our marks will be taken into account), we were all given a chance to prepare a 5 minutes persuasive speech. The most challenging part of the assignment was to actually choose a topic. Its like I wanted it to be perfect, a topic i m passionate about, a topic which is fun, a topic which i can use visual aids cause its a must, a topic which people will actually litsen too. I think i had my topic like only like one week before. The speech is important to me not because my marks would be affected but because of the effort i put into. After delivering the speech, i did okay i guess, marks wise but somehow there is a tiny urge for me to want to deliver the speech again just so to improve it. Thats what i meant by it being addictive.
My second speech was an impromtu speech, which was like our last speech, last project for the entire course. This time it was even more nail-bitting. At that point, of course marks matters but i think why the speech was so important to me was because its was the last one i m giving for the entire course. I felt like if I would have screw that up then it kinda meant that i ve not learnt a thing for the entire course.
Yes the course was definately enriching and I have somehow grown in some ways by taking this course. Nope i dint do like super good, but as i looked upon my results I definately cannot complain.
Yes those were the days, my speech-giving days are over at least for now.=)...I am contented, do take up the course if it is offer but for a more enriching experience, take it in Inti with Ms Kalai, my lecturer..=)

I had no idea what to expect for philosophy. Some people says its fun,some say its easy, some say its hard, some say its hell.. I think most people told me its hell actually, but i took it anyway.
I think i have a love-hate relationship with this subject, i like is much at times and hate it much at other times. The fact that i screwed up my finals definately contributes to my hatred but somehow I wished i could do it all over again and conquer it. The class was definately different from other classes i have taken. Often there are rather entertaining videos being played in the class, and me being a fan of movies and shows it interest me how philosophy can be looked at a different angle relating it to out daily life. I liked most of the movies being played except for one which i think i fell asleep watching it, some action movie. The most memorable thing for the class was when we were required to make a video for our group assignment. I dint sleep well for days, I did like a million draft, a million different versions, but at the end of the day, when the video is done and as it was being played in class, the feeling was just awesome, although i dont think we did very well for it,but from having like zero knowledge on how to make a video to producing one its like i felt as if i have achived something.Will put up the video one day.

Accounts and Econs
This two classes are actually rather normal, it wasnt like super fun or anything, but well its not like its hell. =)

And to end the already awesome semester, for it to become even more awesome, we took a trip to Langkawi for our semester break. Shall write about the trip some other time (which MAY mean never) cause this post is super long already but shall put a picture of the trip just because the post is also very wordy.

Woke up with a sorethroat yesterday, got better towards the night but had slight fever instead. Not very serious, but it reminds me of the two things i hate the most about falling sick...
1. Panadols...
I just hate them much, especially the actifast ones, they are so huge, I take like ten minutes to swallow one, and I have to take two at a time...>_<...Just thinking about having to swallow big tablets is enough to make me sick..

Blaghhhh....

2. Sick food
Sick food are well, food for the sick....-_-"...After a day of sick food, porridge for lunch and pan mee for dinner, I am craving for some crazyly unhealthy food now..eg- Roti canai....hmmm, yum yum....

Yups I would like to think i am fine now, cause i would like to stay away from panadols and sick food, if possible for a very long time....=)

The american idol finale for season 9 was awesome, For the first time, I dint matter to me who wins cause Crystal and Lee are both awesome. The night also focuses on my Simon, I just cant imagine American Idol without him, i especially loved the part where all the idols from the past seasons came out on stage...

I do not understand why but owner one and owner two fights a lot like kids....Usually they will just ignore me. but sometimes they will notice me and they become very violent. i live in fear. So one day while they were arguing over some Mcd ice cream, they became very violent...>_<..And this is what happened.

AHHHH!! T-T...they are so violent! I was such a handsome puppy..what am i gonna do now? I am not gonna mention which of them did this to me cause i dont wanna get into MORE trouble...

I is driving

I told a few people earlier this year that my aim for the year is to able to drive to college by the end of the year. The thing is, lylyn can drive to college now, and yesterday was her 'funnest' driving experience ever as;
1. she was stuck in the traffic for 30 minutes in the morning. 3O minutes not too bad...yey her
2. during her two hours break, she accompanied her friend to pay saman, ( lylyn wasnt driving but well, same thing ;p). It took them an hour to get to the place which is actualy only about 3km away from college, and when they got back to college, another 30 minutes to find parking....yey them!they LOVE subang...-_-"
3. On her way back home, she decided to use a supposingly faster way to pick up her sis, accidently took the wrong turn, she wasnt worried cause her gps was with her, but halfway through mr.gps decided he was going to play an april fool joke on her and it stop functioning. She panics, called her sis, no help there cause she has no idea where she is, she just kept driving,took a guess turn, saw many cars (massive trafic jam) and eventually the jam took her to her to kelanajaya lrt. And there another 1 hour journey home for a distance of approximately 2km.... yay,yay,yayyyyyyy!!!!!

It was rather crazy, i was expecting to see maybe a firework saying 'april fool!' at the end of the day. =)

That day during the sunway concert, we (eelyn,ash and i ) met a girl whom helped to take a picture for us, and then she introduced herself. She was rather shock when eelyn introduced herself as eelyn, and me as lylyn she went like 'HUH! you r eelyn, and you are lylyn????"
LOL
I missed the times where me, eelyn and calyn sat so closely together in class...we were the lynsss.=)...i missed the times when me and eelyn always gets confuse with each others name when being called.sometimes, both of us will just stand up when one being called, and other times, both will just sit there thinking that the other one is being call. And i just love the fact of how it is so coincident that the three lyns got into the same class and are rather close.=))))

Sunway charity concert

I was feeling a liltle lazy to attend this concert earlier in the day, but since i have promised ash and eelyn i went anyway..with no regrets...it was rather awesome... i was impressed by their spirits and sporting-ness..
Ash and i met up in kelana jaya lrt station, where she left her car. I picked her up and we arrived in Sunway at around 8...we were late..=)....
Sunway is so much bigger compared to Inti..When we arrived, we dint even know where/how to park....And the auditorium where the concert was held is just super big and awesome. Upon stepping into the auditorium we could see that the audiences were all screaming their lungs out,jumping , cheering and etc....super 'semangat' la them...
I got a liltle excited, but being the outsider, I just sat there with ash with eelyn's friends..It took us 5mins to realized that we weren't happy with out sits (not near enough to the stage), so me, ash, eelyn decided to stand by the sidelines,nearer to the stage...So at first we were just standing there, and the next thing i know, we were all just steps away from the stage, jumping and screaming our lungs out. I dint even know those who are performing and some of them weren't even that good. Once we even stood on the chairs to have a better view of the performers.=)
The night was certainly fun. I felt so so free, like i can do anything at all in the world and nobody would judge me. Even if they do, they would probably not recognize me.=)
It was just so fun going crazy with ash and eelyn.
Besides i also learnt a bit more about eelyn after the night...i did some catching up...*ahem**

p/s- Results of the jumping and screaming, i was darn tired the next day, i felt like i took part in a 2km run or smthg...And im pretty sure eelyn lost her voice...=p

To me choosing a major is like asking me to choose between two child, which do i want to kill. Im not sure why is it so hard for me to choose. I really cant understand it either. Im not sure whether i cant choose because i like to many things that to choose one is like killing the rest or that i just dont like everything and choosing one is like choosing my poison. Sometimes i feel like the first sometimes the other. Writting this reminds me of the poem i once learn, the road not taken.

New year's eve
Traveled back Taiping. We left around 7.30am and got there only at about 12.30pm.. super jam!!!! T-T...
Had steamboat with mum's side of the family for our reunion lunch.

1ST day
Did nothing much on the 1st day. Got some ang paus.=). Just practically laze around at home with the family. The weather was super hot. Why izzit so hot during cny? Dad suddenly decided to go to kelantan. ( sorry i missed the bbq gathering >_<)
2nd day
Started our journey to kelantan. Another 6 hour journey..Slept almost all the way there. Had lunch in the car at Titiwangsa. *yummmy!!*. Reached kota bahru at about 3pm. Joined up with some family members from dad's side. ( about 20 person all together, 4 cars!) We stayed in some hotel there. It wasnt that bad but definitely over priced. Visited aunt's hse at night. Bought nasi lauk to eat over there.
3rd day
Traveled again! This time to Tok Bali ( somewhere in Kelantan) . Stoped to visit at a few relatives's houses. Reached the next hotel only about 4pm. The hotel was rather nice. Dint have time to enjoy the beach though. Visited my uncle about half an hour from the hotel. Saw my cousin who i used to see so much ( every cny and sch holidays) . She looked so different and grown up now. Realized it been years since i last saw her. Ate nasi lauk again for dinner. Watched some movies in the hotel with the family. We had midnight bbq vy the beach. =). fish,sotong,sausages, fish balls and etc.

Oh btw when we checked into this hotel, the receptioonist told us that M.Nasir would be staying in the same hotel. And later when my cousin decided to checked whether the rooms are nice before comfirming on staying,
i said - 'oh if m,nasir is staying here..'
Before i could finish my sentence, my cousin replied
Cousin- 'who cares about M.Nasir.Why you like him ark?'And from there onwards they kept saying that i m his fan.So later that night, when we 'bump into' him somewhere in the hotel,
my cousin said 'LYN!nah that one la M.Nasir!'- a liltle too loudly, he heard her and he replied 'Oh so good you can recognise even in the dark!" -And we walked away...so thats my liltle encounter with M.Nasir.

woke up early. Took some pictures around the beach. Nasi lauk again for breakfast. We then proceeded to Cherating. Reached there at about 4pm. We took a family suite. Yup 22 ppl in a suite. The suite has two rooms and a living room. It is supposed to be for 8 only. But when we asked the staff whether we can fit more, he replied 'Berape pun boleh mengikut KESELESAAN diri . asalkan jangan satu kampung, asalkan tak runtuh.' So we decided to squeez all into one suite. The sleeping arangement was confusing enough. After settling in we went to the beach. played at the beach for a while and went swimming at the swimming pool afters. Ate tapao-ed dinner. Played fusball-watched movie- sleeep

Long Weekend

Alright i don't have any class tomorrow so my holidays starts today or rather i would call it double long weekend. Its only one week, too short to be counted as the holidays.
Anyway after submitting my philosophy paper around 4pm, me and another friend of mine immediately head to Sunway Piramid. I was rather tired as I dint sleep well the night before.I was trying to finish up my philo paper but i just refuse to spend my first day of my break doing nothing. We wanted to watch a movie but we did not have enough time as i was supposed to pick my sister up. So we ended up just eating, Yup we went all the way there to eat. We ate in sushi zamai and and and tutti frutti!!!!! I love tutti frutti!

Yup that's it..=)

It has been a super super hectic week. Thanks mostly to my philosophy test. So anyway got back a few 'results' this week.
I got my philosophy test one marks on wednesday and i was like this ---> =))))
i was totally over the moon.
And i got my accounts test results in the morning today,and i was like ---=|
happy but a little sad.
And then when i got my SAT results tonight.I was like -----> =(((
yups good things must come to an end but hopefully it will come back.

Anyway i m not sure why myself but i was just very very upset with my scores. So i decided to go emo and emo-ed to a few beings. Now that i feel much better thanks to them, i would like to share what great and cute people they are.

Had a really really great weekend....!!!
Thursday.
Went back after school at about 2.30pm.Took a nap and head to Klang with dad and sis.Met up with aunty and family.Shop in jusco klang.Not much to shop there but i bought a pair of shoe and a very cool photo frame.

Friday.
Went facial for the first time with sis. Its pretty awesome...i felt so 'kampung' though,,,i dint know what to do.First they serve us some herbal tea,then led us to this place to wash our leg..the place looks really pretty but its just putting your legs into this bucket of warm water.Next we were led into seperate room,asked us to change into some weird looking outfit...Took me awhile to figure out how to wear it,the facial includes several gazelion times of cleaning my face,some radioactive thingie,then they applied some mask and left me alone for about 20minutes,some massaging and done.=))...Afterwards we were also given a fish spa.( first time too).Its very very
very ticklish.When i first put my leg into the 'pond' i imediately took my legs out...

I like 17 jan!! Its a good day according to my friend..Well, i was pretty excited as i know three individuals whose birthday is on 17 jan..And they are all born on the same year!!
What excites me more is how i met three of them in different phases of my life..
Individual number 1
Alina Leong- Met her in Inti.Has been friends with her since my first sem.Now we r in our third sem.Sat together in the same class for many many hours before and many many hours to come.Eg: chemistry,Phychology,Accounts and bla bla bla....
Individual number 2-
Maggie Teh- Has the same sir name with me!!! The person who got me thinking the instant noodle brand is 'Maggie'...Until calyn pointed out it is actually 'Maggi'..hmm...I met her in convent,secondary school.Same school for 5 years,classmate for 2...One of the funniest and blurrest friend i know.Last time we met, i found out that she is quite a dangerous driver too...=)
Individual number 3-
Nur Shafiqah- My primary school soulmate!!haha..We were so so so close in primary that we were rarely seen apart in school..hehe...And 6 years down the road, even our class teacher remembered us being that close...=)...And when i met her the other day after a long time not meeting up, all i can say about her is she is very 'me'....i dont think i have met anyone as similar...(in my opinion)

Back to 2009's review
So I came back from NS in March and got my SPM results a few days later.After spm results i just lazed around a lot until April..Was taking driving lessons and passed in April...weeeeee!!!Passed on first trial although i m still not driving around..=(
Also had a very special 18th birthday in April....=)))))))))
Started college in May.Enrolled in Inti for their ADP...And after that time just flewww by..It was so fast by the time i realized i have already finished two semesters...I dont remember any meaningful events, Just ups and downs.Oh got really sick during my 1st semester's finals...horrible....Do not ever get sick during finals esspeacially if you r a last minute-er.;p
Also rented a room for the 1st time.Not renting anymore.Went to sunway lagoon after a gazelion years.erm Fell alseep in the cinema for the first time..Tried many new food,yet getting tired of Subang food..And after my second semester i had a 2 month-long break..Went to cambodia..shall tell about that some other time....So that's it 2009's review...

2009 part 1- NS

AS i have not been posting as often as i expected when i started the blog,I'm gonna do a long summary of 2009...+)
i would say this is one of the fastest year ever....!!!
i m gonna write about NS (national service) in this post just because I'm thinking about it and NS is quite a big part for me this year,It took my three months out of twelve.=)

1.The food....

I din't really think food would be a problem for me as i quite like Malay food but well i certainly did not like the food there...breakfast is the best meal of the day as they serve normal food like Nasi Lemak with a hard boiled egg everyday.Lunch is erm not as good but still not too bad ...normally they serve chicken for lunch,I almost never take their vege as they just look sad..LOL..and they usually serve fish for dinner and i find that their fish smells.Ans so i have maggi cup almost every night.My dorm mate reckons i will go bald.=)

2. Activities.

i think my camp in selama is one of the most un-active camp in Malaysia....The most enjoyable activity would be the flying fox and the omg i forget what is it call...those monkey bars and all.I still cant believe i don't remember the name of that activity.T-T...Most boring would be the classes....and funniest activity would be TTS- tempur tanpa senjata (NS style of self defense)

3.Facilities
The place was alright.I had no trouble sleeping at night just trouble waking up in the morning..hehe...There is no water heater and so the water is just freaking cold and also often after a heavy rain there will be no water supply.I still don't understand why...=)

4.The people
I think the most important part about NS would be about the people you meet.I met so many wonderful people there.Its funny how my dad is a kelantanese and i have spent many many school holidays in kelantan yet i think i truly know very little about Kelantan.I don't even understand the language.However,there i got to know so many kelantanese and they are just very friendly.And among others from other states i have got to know many too.In general although i have complained a lot when i was in NS i actually supports the program.I had many Malay friends since young.In fact my best friend in primary school is a Malay, so for me being friends with other races is something normal.But there, at least 5 of my friends told me i'm their first 'Chinese friend'...They have never ever really interact with any other races before.How can we be one Malaysia then?I'm really glad NS changed this for them and therefore i believe NS really promotes one Malaysia....=)

It was an awesome night. Everything was so last minute but it turned out good...
We had dinner in the gate cafe...I dint think the food was good and the service was not that good either.we were saying how the staff looked kinda sad..
The original plan was just to eat i guess,and dinner was fun catching up,joking and all but i think the adventure starts after dinner...=)
So ash's dad picked us up and all 5 of us squeeze at the back of her car...
We were supposed to catch a movie in Taiping Sentral but we decided to watch movie at ash's instead and have a marshmallow BBQ party...=)))
So firstly we had to get some marshmallow and some dvds from TS and Tesco and guess who drove us there? Ashie!!! we laughed and screamed so much in her car.It was pretty smooth sailing at first until we had to park..there were so many cars in Taiping sentral...Its funny how ash gets distracted by us and its even funnier when she panics. Once dash was telling us about her friend who got this car banged...and ash heard the word 'another car' and she just suddenly slows down...and another time Gessie saw the 'bump' sign and she just shouted 'BUMP!' and ash immediately break...and many many other funny occasions we could not stop laughing...
We got back to her home safely..*fuh*

We had a BBQ session at her house. spent quite some time locating the BBQ utensils and almost mistaken the rat poison for fire starter...0_0...when we or rather dash had everything set up we just sat around the fire,eating BBQ-ed marshmallows with some sparkling juice, admiring the stars with music from ash's laptop,on9 outside, and of course some picture taking sessions....

Went to Inti to do some stuff...Venetia offered to pick me up and drop me home as i have no transport. I was a little worried as first as i know she is not very very familiar with the way to my place. Fortunately she arrived to pick me up safely and i guided her to school successfully from my place..*proud*
So after we are done with our school stuffs, we head home again and wasn't that very fortunate this time. You see there are two ways to get home, which is the 'ldp way' or the 'subang airport way'.
Venetia half-knows the ldp way while i know the subang airport way...
So, everything was smooth sailing until we reach this junction between the two ways.i asked her to turn left kinda last minute-ly and she went straight because she assumes that we are going on the ldp way.....so we decided to u-turn...but halfway i realised that 'hey i might know the ldp way also,looks a lil familiar'......but at last we u-turn after all as i thought it would be better to use the way i m more familiar with and it isnt very far anyway, so we u-turned.
But we took the wrong turn again.And this time it was some road which isnt familiar at all for both of us.it was this big big highway ,with many many cars and an unavoidable tol about 600m infront...And signroads showing 'ipoh,rawang, even KLIA.
At this point i thought we are doom-ed..no mistake can we do further..guess what? we turn into a motorcycle lane...i know i wasnt driving but i probably would have done the same thing as i had that lane in mind before she turned...and so we reverse...damm hard!!the motor keeps coming at us and atlast one of the kind motorcyclist suggest that it is better if we just go ahead and exit illegally at some broken barrier...*fuh*
And afterwards the toll people guide us back to subang and everything was smooth sailing since..we reached my place safely...=))
Well at least we hae made almost all the possible mistakes,and like venetia said when she drop me off ' at least we were together,so it'll be less scary next time if we ever take any of theese wrong turns and happen to be alone next time'........I dont think i m driving alone anytime soon though..=(
I have been in the car where my dad/sis/etc takes the wrong turn(s) before but i would say this is one of the funnest 'sesat' experience ever when i think about it now.=)

This is venetia driving happily after we found our way back,but she reckons i should put a hazard sign on/beside her so that you people out there can avoid her if you ever see her on the road...=)

I finished a book entitle 'the chocolate run' this morning...and i like it!!!

fyi,the chocolate run means
1. The act of going out to purchase chocolate.
2. Moving with quick steps on alternate feet while in possession of chocolate
3. The life of a person who thinks in chocolate and spends her life avoiding intimacy.
4. The emotional gauntlet we all go through at some point in our lives, eased by the consumption of chocolate.

There are many 'chocolate quotes' in this book.i find them pretty amusing.

I have been to/help planned 4 birthday surprises in my lifetime.
The first one was when i was fourteen (form two). Well it was my friend, ash's birthday...It did not turn out that well. Although i remembered the party to be a blast ash actually found out we were planning the surprise birthday party. It was pretty funny as if i am not mistaken ash got angry as she thought we were keeping a secret from her.
I remember we have some pictures in someone's profile in friendster but i could not track the pictures down... So no pictures..=(
Okay next up was probably when i was fifteen (f3). This was ssk's birthday. It was a surprise birthday party in pizza hut. Her mom was very sporting to go along with us. Her mom dropped her off at pizza asking her to pick up some job form for her brother i think. i don't think she was very surprise but i won't know cause i went late..*shy*.
Also no pictures.=(
Next up is jivi's birthday when we were seventeen. We met at khong's house for a study group.(kononye spm is near and we are very hardworking people.;p). So we were 'studying' and just suddenly we brought the cake out to suprise her..=)

And the latest was my sister's suprise birthday dinner..=).So we went out to dinner as usual although it was pretty tough to get her to go out and choose a nicer sort of place to eat. So at last we went to somewhere nearby. A shop call 'La La Chong' whose obviously is famous for it's 'lala'.
And shortly after we got a friend of hers to bring the birthday cake.Her friend came with the cake (lighted candles and all) and goes 'miss you ordered cake?'(in cantonese)...She was quite suprise with the 'intermision'. So we sang the birthday song for her in some seafood restaurant...=)
Thats all...Oh and so again as today is the actual day..HAPPY 22ND birthday!

I got home early on Wednesday. So i decided to cook dinner.=) ...So i took a packet of spaghetti and a can of the sauce.I boiled the spaghetti 1st as i knew that would take a longer time.After that, i took out the can opener to open the can only to discover that i don't really know how to use one...After much banging and pressure this is what it looked like.

Well i managed to get it all out through that small hole after all.And here's the end product.

And later...i did the laundry!!!!And i damaged something else..T-T

On top of that...it rained the next day..and the clothes got wet...i had to wash again..fine.i mean i had to operate the washing machine again..*sigh*
In conclusion lylyn = housework...<----bad equation.... Oh this did not occurred on Thursday but just to show you guys....

I m renting a room about 5 minutes away from inti by foot. Well i have been renting here since july but i have only stay ovenight in the room once or twice.I hang around the room almost everyday though after my classes as my sis can only pick me up quite late.My friends calls it my 'hotel'...=)

I share the room with two other girls.One malaysian and one chinese indonasian...They are prety nice but we dont have much to talk about.Mostly we talk about college.Thats about it..They have been sharing the room for quite a time and they speak mandarine to each other.Oh and i pay Rm360 for the room each month which includes electricity,aircond and prety fast broadband.Oh oh and attached bathroom with water heater.
And i'm moving out next month...Anybody interested to rent?

my parents visit us in kl quite often..i would say about once in two or three weeks.but our apartment is pretty small...we only have one queen-sized bed in the master bedroom and one double-sized sofa bed in the living room.In conclusion,not much space.One day, after their visit during the weekend i found chester and manchester to be missing. Where could they be? After arguing with my sister (i accused her of hiding them) i found them.

crime- kidnapping of two little ones
verdict-suspect 2 were found to be guilty
reason of crime- not enough space on the bed

About one month later....(yesterday)...when i came back to kl after 2 weeks in tpg,i had another surprise when i wanted to take my clothes from the closet..this is what i found...

verdict- suspect was guilty
reason of crime- just to irritate me.;p

If you noticed, there were no posts in the month of july. As i m quite free this week (last week of my holidays) i shall write a few random posts about things which occur in the month of june and july.=)

Here's the first one.
on the 27th of June i went to 1U to watch transformers with my sis and her friend.
everybody was crazy over transformers at that time.i did not really understand why.i did not even watch transformers 1.Anyhow i was pretty excited as the crowd there was crazy and i heard they have over 10 screenings for transformers on that day.

...the show was pretty all right..
after that we went to erm Puchong if i m not mistaken....i dont remember...wherever it is we went there to fix the car..so while waiting for the car we ate in this mamak stall.The stall is pretty amusing.The waitress was funny.There are a few funny conversation with her but i can only remember one.

us- roti TISU..*speaks louder*
waitress -OH OH ada ada...*brings a packet of tissue paper for us*

after that we went to this yong tau foo stall for dinner.the yong tau foo is a series of tau foo,fish ball and other stuff serve with rice..The yong tau foo i know is always served in the soup kind.

And after that we went to SS2 for desert!!They sell this ice thingie which is really yummy.

'ham chin band'....its actually the flour thingie people normally eat for
breakfast...but everytime i look at their menu i imagine them mixing
ham and slices of sombody's chin and they make it in to a band..

after two whole weeks doing nothing in Taiping (unless you count eating,sleeping and watching tv something), i finally went OUT with ash and jivi..=)....supposed to meet up yesterday but ash had some visitors...so out we go to Taiping sentral (where else) and these are the things we did.
1. walk around aimlessly ,while deciding where to eat.
2. ate in sushi king
3. chat,chat, chat and chat about random stuff.
4. paid the bill.
5. went to the gift shop
so while looking at some cute stuff in the gift shop ash asked something.
ash- hey who's birthday is coming up?
me- *automatically says jivi*
ash- oh ya tomorrow right..?
jivi - nah its today..
me and ash-*0.0
we forgot jivi's birthdayyy!!well i know its late august..and i ve been wanting to find out.but i forgot...T-T....guilty nye...so well since its jivi's birthday, we decided to go to secret recipe to get jivi a slice of cake..before that we went with ash to shop for shorts,black shorts specifically so that she can match it with her new checkers blouse to wear at home...lol...ash is one of the funniest person to shop with...ok so next

it was kinda a sad little outing..only the 3 of us...but it was fun catching up with them.we dint take any picture..but here's an old one..

Went genting with the editorial board last weekend...i shall say it was erm..interessting..
so, on sat afternoon my sister drop me off at kl sentral..was trying to find mcd as there was where we were suppose to gather...got lost a little..=)
we boarded the bus at about 1.30 and reached about an hour later.They brought us to an appartment in gotong jaya.It was one of the member's uncle's house.Had lunch...They made spaggetti ...=)....and then we got ready to go out to start some game they prepared for us...amazing race genting..lol...i got venetia as my partner and the 1st game was...tennis...T-T..we had to hit the ball continuously for three times...should have learn some tennis from eelyn...as both if us never play tennis before,we kept on dropping the ball..it was exhausting picking up the ball..we were the last team to finish the task.then we had to find the next clue which was situated on the highest floor of the apartment..and apartment has four blocks...we ran up and down searching for the clues for the longest time ever..we were expecting some seniors to wait at the top floor but they actually pasted the clues on the wall....T-T..
next we took the cable car up genting.we were suppose to find a fountain...we had a hard time finding that station too.at least the task there was pretty easy.we were supposed to find some stuff..we just grab everything from starbucks.next we had to go around taking pictures of some international landmark.we spend much time here too...running all over the indoor theme park as we kept getting the last picture wrong.next station , one of us was supposed to do wall climbing.i did it..was my first time.pretty scary .i was afraid i might fall..unfortunately i could not reach the top.but nobody did so it was ok..=).....and last but not least we were given a paper.on it, it was writen (green + a pic of a star + a pic of a reindeer)....guess where the station was.?starbucks....sigh.. a male reindeer is supposed to be called a buck...something like that...later we caught up with 2 other teams and we ride on the same cable car to gotong jaya...had dinner and later we played a game called 'mafia'..its a very interesting game..we were all addicted to that game.slept at about 4...super tiring,,,next day we had banana pancakes for breakfast,milk.
Next we clean up and played another round of mafia and that's the end of the trip.got sick the day after,,,=(((
